F.A.Q.

You got questions, I got answers! Booking a photographer shouldn’t be hard. I have compiled a list of questions that I get asked a lot. If you don’t find your answer here, please feel free to contact me, I would love to help.

Newborn Photography Amsterdam

What is your photographic style?

I love capturing candid moments in a documentary but contemporary style; it can be with out without guidance, so it depends on the situation. Posed photos are also welcome if you want to, specially for group/Family photos on a Wedding for example.

How do we schedule a session?

First of all, thank you for choosing me as your photographer! To schedule a session, please click here and let me know the type of session and date you prefer.

What should I/we wear?

I will provide all clients with a Color and Clothing Guide to help create a cohesive look, but ultimately you're free to wear whatever you feel comfortable in. For children, I encourage them to express themselves through their clothing choices.

How soon will I receive the photos?

A: Your photos will be delivered to you in high-resolution via an online gallery. I'll send a sneak-peek within 24 hours of the session and the full gallery within 30 days*. It's extremely important to back up the files in at least two different locations, such as Google Drive or Dropbox.

*Please note that for weddings, elopements, and sessions lasting over 3 hours, the delivery time may be up to 8 weeks.

What if it rains?

I'll check the weather forecast on the day before and the morning of your photoshoot. If it's raining, we'll try to reschedule for another date and time that works for both of us. If we can't reschedule due to my schedule or if you'll be leaving the Netherlands within 24 hours after the scheduled photoshoot, your €50 booking fee will be refunded.

Do you only work in Amsterdam?

No, I am available throughout the Netherlands and Europe. Please note that any travel costs and/or accommodation for places outside Amsterdam will be added to the final cost of the Session/Wedding/Elopement.

Do you provide digital negatives (RAW files) after the shoot?

No, only edited JPEG images will be provided.

What if we have to cancel?

I understand that things can come up outside of our control, but unfortunately, the deposit is non-refundable except in the case of rain with clients who are less than 24h in The Netherlands after the scheduled session day.

If you cancel after paying the first installment, your €50 booking fee won't be refunded and will serve as a cancellation fee. But don't worry, you can use it for a future photoshoot with me within a year of the cancellation date or give it to someone else as a gift.

In the unlikely event that I'm unable to work due to illness or another emergency, I'll refund your booking fee if we can't reschedule the photoshoot.

We'll confirm our photoshoot on the day of the session. If you don't get in touch with me after 30 minutes of being late, I'll consider it a cancellation and your deposit won't be refunded.

In the case of an emergency, lockdown, curfew, or any government-mandated restriction, the €50 deposit will be refunded.

Can we shoot at more than one location?

Of course! I typically recommend one or two locations for the best results, as shooting at more than that can be time-consuming and stressful. For maternity sessions, I like to start outdoors and then move indoors, while for couple/engagement sessions, we can explore different neighborhoods and capture both outdoor and indoor shots. I'll be happy to assist with location suggestions.

I'm not photogenic, can you help me?

Sure! I love coaching my clients by having their photos taken, and I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve to make candid photos and express true feelings. When you’re having a great time, you’ll look more beautiful than you thought was possible. I promise it!

What can I expect from a 100% Documentary Family session?

With over seven years of experience working with families, I can tell you that most families do many of the same things. Social media may lead us to believe otherwise, but these are the moments you'll want to remember - the little things like licking cake batter off of a spoon or snuggling in bed. These are the stories that make up your life right now, and I'm here to preserve them for you.

Can you make me look thinner?

No, I will only make edits to lighting and color and will not alter human features such as weight, height, eye color, hair shape, etc.

Please remember: all bodies are beautiful.

Late Arrival Policy

Please note that if the client is running late for the photo shoot, it is their responsibility to notify the photographer via phone call, email, or text. If the client fails to show up within 30 minutes of the scheduled time without prior notification, the photographer reserves the right to leave the location and consider it a withdrawal. In such cases, the €50 deposit will not be rescheduled.

MATERNITY/NEWBORN PHOTOSHOOTS

Can family members be included in the session?

Yes, absolutely! The immediate family, including siblings and even pets, are welcome to be a part of the session.

When is the best time to schedule a maternity session?

It's recommended to schedule the maternity session between 30 to 36 weeks. This ensures that you have a noticeable belly but are still comfortable during the photoshoot. I recommend booking your due date in advance during the early stages of your second trimester.

What can be expected from a newborn photoshoot?

The newborn photoshoot is a relaxed and candid-style session, which aims to document the daily routines and affection of the new parents and their little ones. I like to capture snugglings, breastfeeding, and other intimate moments in different areas of the home to tell the story of the family.

When is the best time to schedule a newborn photoshoot?

The ideal time to schedule a newborn photoshoot is 10 days after the baby's birth. This is when they are at their squishiest and sleepiest, allowing for a smoother session. Additionally, this gives the new parents time to settle in with their baby and the mother to heal before the photoshoot.

WEDDINGS

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes, I am available to travel anywhere within the E.U. for your wedding. Please note that additional costs and possible accommodation requirements apply.

What if it rains?

In case of rain, there is always a plan B. I am equipped with lighting for indoor photography if necessary. However, I highly recommend embracing the elements, as we can create amazing photos even in adverse weather conditions.

How much deposit do we need to put down?

To secure your booking, a non-refundable deposit of €100 is required. This deposit will be deducted from the balance.

What happens if we have to cancel our wedding?

If, for any reason, you need to cancel your wedding, please notify me as soon as possible. I understand that circumstances can change, but please keep in mind that a confirmed booking means I have reserved that date exclusively for you. Regrettably, I cannot offer refunds for any payments made since it would prevent me from accepting other bookings.

Can I make special photography requests?

Absolutely! While I hope you have chosen me because you appreciate my style and trust my expertise, I value your input and want to create a collection of images that you will cherish. Please inform me of any additional information or specific requests you may have so that I can tailor the photography experience to your preferences.

How many photographers cover each wedding?

Typically, I work alone for most weddings. However, on occasion, couples may request an additional photographer. I ensure that any "second" photographer I bring is a skilled professional in their own right. They are expected to have a similar shooting style, equivalent equipment, and the ability to work independently and confidently. Rest assured, you will receive exceptional coverage regardless of whether it's just me or if there's an additional photographer.

What happens if you are ill and cannot attend the wedding?

A. While it has never happened before, I understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise. In the unlikely event that I am unable to attend your wedding due to illness, please be assured that I am part of a vast network of professional photographers. Every effort will be made to provide you with a photographer who possesses a similar style and skill set. Your wedding day coverage will be in capable hands.
