I’m Emily — a Brazilian visual artist, photographer, and mentor based in Amsterdam.

I moved to Amsterdam in 2017, and living between cultures made me realise how deeply curious I am about people: how they move, connect, love, remember, belong, and reveal themselves in everyday life.

With a background in Pharmacy, over 10 years of full-time experience as a photographer, and — since 2026 — a growing practice in art history, art therapy, and multidisciplinary research, my work is shaped by both science and sensitivity. I’m interested in the body, memory, childhood, intimacy, presence, and the quiet ways human beings reveal themselves.

For me, photography is not only about creating beautiful images. It is a way of observing, understanding, and framing what it means to be human.

Who I am

THE PHOTOGRAPHER YOU DIDN'T KNOW YOU NEEDED
Love, Emily

Through documentary photography, personal artistic projects, and mentoring, I explore human connection in its most honest forms.

I photograph families, weddings, and real moments with a storytelling approach, while also developing personal projects such as Skins Project and Kids Will Be Kids. My artistic work moves through themes of body, touch, vulnerability, motherhood, childhood, identity, and emotional presence.

As a mentor, I help photographers and creatives learn how to see with more intention — beyond settings, trends, or perfect poses. My approach focuses on storytelling, emotion, light, composition, and the small details that make an image feel alive by changing our perception of the world around us.
